Martin Hülle

Time and again, the remote and rough landscapes of the High North have beckoned Martin Hülle. He crosses the frugal tundra, the eternal ice, the utter vastness of these regions on foot or by skis and is often trekking for weeks at a time, come sun, rain, snow, or cold. In the spring of 1991, the native of Wuppertal laid the basis for his adventures when he went on his first hike in the Sauerland lasting several days. In the same year, he embarked on a trekking tour in Sweden, which once and for all touched off his passion. Uncountable other treks followed, which took him to all the countries of Scandinavia, to Scotland, Iceland, and Greenland. He was infected by the Northland fever early on. On numerous solo tours that he went on in the following years, he soon found his way around in the great outdoors and the solitude of the wilderness. Summer expeditions were soon followed by winter tours. Skis or snowshoes became his constant companions on his tours, as his camera and notepad have always been. As an 18-year-old, Martin Hülle published his first report in a travel magazine. This was followed by a large number of photo and copy contributions to reputed national and international magazines and journals, for which he is now working as a photographer and author. Since his first early treks, he has become a professional adventurer.
